After much prayer, consideration, and realization of the superb quality and convenience of the Cambridge Hotel and Convention Centre, it was obvious God was once again placing His name in Red Deer.
The City of Red Deer lies in central Alberta mid-way between Calgary and Edmonton. It gets its name from the river on which it is situated, the Red Deer River. It is in one of the fastest growing areas of the entire province, consisting of approximately 110,000 residents. The natives called the river , interpreted as “Elk River.” However, the British traders translated it to “Red Deer River” as they mistakenly assumed that Elk was the European red deer. In the early 1900s, the city saw a massive influx of British settlers. With a population of 343 in 1901, Red Deer was incorporated as a town.
We can look forward to a millennial type of peace and tranquility while enjoying the fellowship of the brethren after enduring the stress of the last year and a half. Like last year, the Feast will have a deep and profound meaning, and we will for certain come away from the Feast looking forward to the return of Jesus Christ and the Government of God He will bring with Him.
